The jewel in the crown of Scotland and centre piece of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, Loch Lomond’s vast expanse of water, the largest inland waterway in Britain some 23miles long and up to 5 miles wide with its 34 islands, sandy beaches and rocky shores is both a fascinating and fantastic place to visit.

Its setting amidst the Scottish mountains is second to none. Positioned between the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and Ben Lomond to the east, the Arrochar Alps to the west and the highland fault line crossing the loch through the islands of Inchmurrin, Creinch and Inchtavannach its superb scenery and natural beauty make Loch Lomond one of the most desirable holiday locations not only in Scotland but in the entire UK. We even have the island of Inchconnachan which is famous for its wallabies and is also home to the extremely rare capercaillie and ospreys.

The interesting and varied geology around the loch is immense with the lowlands at the southern tip of loch lomond transforming into the highlands some 2 miles to the north at the Highland Boundary fault line which is located just a few hundred yards from Arden.Totally dormant and inactive now it still portrays natural beauty and grandeur on a scale which is envied worldwide.

Presenting a perfect holiday location within its own right and offering lots to see and do in the local area there are numerous attractions such as walking, climbing, photography, wildlife, loch cruises, golf, fishing, quad biking, shooting, canoeing and The Loch Lomond Seaplane which does trips around the loch as well as to the west coast islands. The west coast of Scotland with its many sea lochs and rugged shorelines is only a 30 minute drive away. Loch lomond is also well positioned in west central Scotland to form an ideal base for a combination holiday of relaxation and chill out on and around the loch side and for the more adventurous traveller some touring around Scotland with the perfect accommodation to retire to at the end of the day.

Within a short distance of our accommodation there are six restaurants/bars with the Cruin being he closest (5-10min walk), The Carrick (15-20 min walk) Duck Bay Marina and Cameron House Hotel and Leisure Club, Marina Bar and Boathouse (15-20mins walk)

The village of Balloch is 2 miles away with a further choice of restaurants, Inns, a supermarket and local shops.The Lomond Shores Visitor attraction with shopping and a tourist information centre is also in Balloch. There is a 24hour Asda, a Marks and Spencer food hall and a large Morrisons supermarket all within a 10 minute drive at Dumbarton.

The picturesque village of Luss is a 5 minute drive north and the desirable town of Helensburgh is 10mins away and set on the shoreline of the Firth of Clyde offering quality butchers, fishmongers, bakers etc with numerous coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
